Popsicles

We played the "what color is my tongue game" for waaaaaay too long this afternoon pretending it was a LOT warmer than it actually was.

Let those feelings out

I've always heard not to cry over spilt milk, I get it, don't sweat the small stuff, but what if the milk was used to make a milkshake? Takes it to a WHOLE new level...

And we have never been afraid of our feelings here anyways.  Sometimes it is a tangible thing like this that gives you a reason to let all the built up emotion out anyways so I say THANK GOODness for a spilled milkshake (or glass of milk) every once in a while:)

10 minutes/10 pictures

The shirt is Harpers...

The jean's were Millie's favorite...

The sandals went through Tatum and Addelyn....

But the personality is ALL Lu!

CG goes to church with T

Curious George is a special guest in our house this week. He is visiting ALL of the preK kids' homes (ours twice) and this morning T decided he most definitely needed to come to church with them...in a dress...

K Family

I was able to document this little lady's birthday party this weekend as a gift to her mom.  Her personality is amazing, totally a rock star.

Sprinkles

A "hey mom, take a picture of my favorite sprinkles"

I immediately think of E whose medicine was in the form of sprinkles and smile.  I love my little reminders from my own girls (who talk about her all the time) to just slow down and soak these moments all in.  Two seconds later I turn around from semi-creepily taking a million pictures as A eats her donut to see T with the bracelet around her eye.  This is John's bracelet from E's race back in September to raise money for Epilepsy awareness.  Just in case I wasn't paying attention to the more subtle reference to E and her sprinkles, there she is in all of her glory smiling down on us! We love you E and think about you all the time!

Dangle

They came to sit and dangle their feet off the edge of the world and after a while they forgot everything but the good and true things they would do someday...

Hand Hearts

Sometimes you just need a little extra visual reminder that you are in someone else's heart and that they are in yours...

Magic

Magic is everywhere.  Whenever these guys are together I feel magic, the magic of a special little lady and her spirit surrounding us.  I see her in the light and shadows. She is the magic.

and speaking of feelings...

Thank you Tao of Motherhood.

It was a Monday here at the Gray household.

the fine line

My dad always said there was a fine line between sadness and euphoria.  We feel our feelings A LOT in our house so we like to hang out with people who also like to feel their feelings.

Warrior

So I am definitely not a writer, I think that is why I love photography so much. Pictures say everything when my words tend to fall short.  But this set of pictures represents the culmination of the last 7 1/2 years of an amazing journey my husband John and I were super unprepared for with our oldest daughter and I felt like they needed a few words with them.  She was born with a bilateral conductive hearing loss that went undetected until 3 1/2 and today she finally received her first pair of BAHAs (bone anchored hearing devices) to replace her hearing aids!! When I asked her how things sounded she told me "Mom, everything finally sounds all better, and calm!"

She then proceeded to sing "Tomorrow" from Annie THROUGH the walls for all of the audiologists to enjoy for the next hour. You're welcome.
