Picture of the day

Sometimes the "picture of the day" isn't pretty. Sometimes it's me screaming in the middle of a store (with a large audience) "I don't care what KIND of candy it is, if you found it on the BATHROOM FLOOR, you need to go back into the bathroom and spit. it. out."

And then 2 hours later when everyone is asleep because there was no pool playdate due to the fact that SOMEONE (no names, it's all anonymous) threw a doll at my head while driving home from said store (I'm assuming because of distress over the poor candy hygiene decision) and I had to stop the car and GET OUT to count to 10 for MYSELF and the dentist calls to make sure I had all the necessary paper work for the cavity fill tomorrow....and our pediatrician couldn't fit us in at 5pm (because I obviously did NOT have any of the necessary paper work) so I spend $100 at Kidmed for basically a height and weight check, I sit down to my computer only to realize there is no picture I would like to share of the day. I didn't have my camera today. But I did have it all weekend, so I went through some of those pictures and had to giggle to myself at the irony of this. I will put up a beautiful picture when it was a not so beautiful day.  A photographer I love has often said photography is her therapist and I love that.  All of my pictures have a story that I am instantly reminded of when I look at them.

I found this picture and it instantly put me back on the boat Friday night.  And slowly as I looked through and edited pictures of the weekend I felt better. Or at least I felt less likely to box up everyones toys so I couldn't get hit in the head with a doll while driving.

My shadow

"hey mom look, do you see my shadow?! you should TOTALLY get your camera"

We played the "what color is my tongue game" for waaaaaay too long this afternoon pretending it was a LOT warmer than it actually was.

Let those feelings out

I've always heard not to cry over spilt milk, I get it, don't sweat the small stuff, but what if the milk was used to make a milkshake? Takes it to a WHOLE new level...

And we have never been afraid of our feelings here anyways.  Sometimes it is a tangible thing like this that gives you a reason to let all the built up emotion out anyways so I say THANK GOODness for a spilled milkshake (or glass of milk) every once in a while:)

10 minutes/10 pictures

The shirt is Harpers...

The jean's were Millie's favorite...

The sandals went through Tatum and Addelyn....

But the personality is ALL Lu!

CG goes to church with T

Curious George is a special guest in our house this week. He is visiting ALL of the preK kids' homes (ours twice) and this morning T decided he most definitely needed to come to church with them...in a dress...

K Family

I was able to document this little lady's birthday party this weekend as a gift to her mom.  Her personality is amazing, totally a rock star.

A "hey mom, take a picture of my favorite sprinkles"

I immediately think of E whose medicine was in the form of sprinkles and smile.  I love my little reminders from my own girls (who talk about her all the time) to just slow down and soak these moments all in.  Two seconds later I turn around from semi-creepily taking a million pictures as A eats her donut to see T with the bracelet around her eye.  This is John's bracelet from E's race back in September to raise money for Epilepsy awareness.  Just in case I wasn't paying attention to the more subtle reference to E and her sprinkles, there she is in all of her glory smiling down on us! We love you E and think about you all the time!

They came to sit and dangle their feet off the edge of the world and after a while they forgot everything but the good and true things they would do someday...
